I appreciate J.J.'s candor regarding the quality of late 90s TV. He's a great guest.
Yeah, I've never really thought about how much work must have gone into all those Jeep Flips from the A-Team.
@Euan Smith bro, literally every single episode. Amazing.
@Euan Smith I imagine the director would shout "Jeep team!" and a dedicated team of professional Jeep flippers would show up ready for the next take. :)
@CNC Time-Lapse 😄😄😄
@Euan Smith 😊
This is a trio who’s energy together works really well. I dig everyone. I mean no disrespect to anyone. Gui and Niko are great together and JJ’s just got a real ass all hell vibe that’s entertaining as all hell. I really dig the episodes with the old heads who’ve got a way with words.
JJ is so fun to listen to! This is another great power trio for the couch. Please have him on more often guys!
J.J. is a great storyteller, funny, and knowledgeable. It's a real joy to have him back on the show, and I hope you guys can get him again some time. Thanks, J.J.!
He's my favorite on these reacts for sure
Gui and J.J both yelling ARMOR OF GOOOOOD!! Was so hype 😂😂
"Chubb Zero" had me in tears! And always a pleasure to see Gui on the couch, you guys might as well just make him part of the Crew he hosts so much now!
He is part of the crew, he also is busier with his other job than most of the regular crew, so we don't get to see him as much.
We can tell JJ is having a great time on that couch, he's very passionate about his work. Appreciated.
He seems like a very cool guy
He kinda reminds me of the older John Kreese from Cobra Kai if he was super chill and well-adjusted socially.
Loved how he approached things with Keanu! Really great.
I love how knowledgeable and straight forward J.J. is. Don't know if that's from army training, but I wish more people had that directness.
I love how the three gun training he took Keanu to not only changed up his stance to make him look more fluid, but that the extra fluidity helped ease the transition into hand to hand combat.
The gun-jitsu could be upped because it looked more natural for him to have opportunities to throw a guy or need to make distance to get to his weapon. And John Wick always purveying for threats while _Keanu Reeves_ knew where the threats would be gives the effect of this inhumanly good assassin, not omnipotent but placing shots on threats more effectively than anybody could.
It always amazes me when I re-realize that Keanu does _all_ of his own stunts besides the car wrecks. The dude is almost 60 and still throwing down this hard?? And the way he loves to go through all the training. He's always grinning ear to ear in the behind the scenes. He's so cool lmao
Lately, I had people using Keanu as argument for training gun safety into actors.
Now watching this video, and how this specific prop gun works, now I know it’s less teaching Keanu about guns, but getting him practicing the motions so he looks natural using them quickly.
It can even be explained in-universe as being out of practice since he was retired, the first movie was warming back up.
John wick would have been dead in the first film, the fact that there's 4 movies is hilarious.
@Simply Lethul The amount of people who care for your opinion of what's realistic or hilarious is less than the number of John Wick movies. It's an action movie series, you got action, if it offends you don't watch.
I love him - funny, self-deprecating, confident, charming, knowledgeable as hell, and he's clearly having fun with you guys. Great episode as always.
Would be great for Gui to get a role in Night Shift 2. Having him as a vampire and fighting Adkins would be truly epic.
I dont think that will realistically happen anytime soon given Jamie Fox's current condittion...no matter what JJ says.
I've loved seeing Gui moving from the middle of the couch to the side! The middle is for guests, the side is for permanent hosts!
The side .... is for family - Dom Toretto
dood, its cause theres usually 3 people, your theory is probably created on the toilet, hes also stuntman so its obvious hes gonna be there
Haha i mean when this guy's on, hes the only one thats going to be talking haha, niko and gui are just there to fill out the couch, but yet its always good stuff haha. this guys always got great stories.
I hope gui does come on every stuntman episode though, he's definitely earned it
@Krystian Krysti It aint that deep g
@Krystian Krysti eyo calm down brethren
the more you see these episodes, the more appreciation you have for jackie chan as an entertainer and his crew.... what a beast!
This episode was amazing. JJ's awesome 🔥
Great episode. I especially like that you let JJ get serious and break down the realities of stunt coordination. It may seem like fun and games but it's a serious job.
Probably went unnoticed by most, but I really appreciate you guys using a clip from InCamera when talking about the squibs. They really do feel like the other side of the VFX coin to Corridor, focusing on practical over digital. They deserve way more love on ESclips, and I hope one day we even see a collab!
Love seeing Jackie Chan stuff! Can we get a whole episode of just Jackie Chan movies!? It would be even better with Jackie on the show!
Getting Jackie on the show would be like the holy grail episode
From what I understand, Jackie left back for China long ago and hasn't really been back to do much as he hates how we film things here. That said, it still would be great to see him on here.
@The Crazy CommenterIt’s slightly more complicated than that, what with geography, politics and their control of his assets.
@Alec Pridgen I wonder if it would be easier/feasible for Corridor to send a couple guys over to China instead and do a few episodes over there with renowned Chinese artists.
As a stuntman myself, I respect all who put their lives on the line for cinema. 🥋🥋🥋
Awesome. What roles have you doubled for?
You guys need to have these stunt coordinators in your podcasts :)
Speaking of Jackie being underappreciated, the MF can act, he's far from a one trick pony.
I loved those Mortal Kombat movies so much. First one is just a legit good martial arts movie. The second one is just amazing for how fast they manage to cycle 20 characters in and out of the movie while trying to keep a somewhat coherent plot.
I love MK2 (movie) for the fact it's camp. The issue the movie had was they tried to much the plots for the second and third game in to the movie where they should've kept to the trilogy as is. The fights and stunts were amazeballs though and that Johnny and Scorpion fight still remains a top 3 favorite fight of all time for me for multiple reasons!!
This was... a surprisingly short episode, but also a very interesting one.
This dude is super humble. Love him bring him back every week!
Another Saturday, another awesome vid. The Stuntmen React series is definitely my favourite of the bunch.
The fact that there still isn't a major awards show category for these guys and gals is a travesty.
The executives get worried if too many workers get spotlight.
@Jimunu That's just not true at all
@Wontohn okay, they're cheap and don't want to pay for it then.
Those shows are put on by the guilds. The stunmen need to make their own shows. In a way, that's what corrider crew is trying to do with this series.
The only thing I’d worry about is if it got stunt guys to start taking bad risks just so they can get the award.
JJ is a treasure. This was legitimately one of the best entries of this series.
Man - this guy has made everything I love from Mortal Kombat and John Wick to freaking Buffy and Walker Texas Ranger. Thanks for all those wonderful moments! I loved every moment of watching and rewatching :D
Have you ever tried getting Zoe Belle to make an appearance on your couch? Or any of the stuntwomen who worked on Buffy? That would be tremendous. This video, an amazing watch, thank you.
JJ is an absolute treat! Thank you for having him on and letting us listen to his amazing stories.
Best stunt react yet. Thorough. The history and technical info was well balanced 👌
Jackie’s work ethic, even today as old as he is, is unreal.
That was a great episode, good energy and good dynamics between the group - LOVED it and laughed out loud a couple times. Thanks guys!
This video went by so fast... I especially love those Stuntmen react. So entertaining, much respect to those guys in the industry.
I would love to see stunt guys react to the out-of-uniform fight scenes from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
They had some of the best fights ever on TV.
Unfortunately JDF is no longer with us, he would've been an awesome guest on the show.
should get the Bat in the Sun directors to get on the couch
@Vic Martinez That would be cool too. Or Johnny Young Bosch & Austin St. John.
The talk about the plugged barrels is fascinating. There have only been a few fatal injuries in cinema, and there are mostly firearm related.
On a similar note, you should get some pyro guys on the show and see what they talk about. I'm sure there are some crazy stories.
One of my best friends is a pyro/explosives expert and stunt coordinator. He's done Marvel, F&F, Walking Dead, Zombieland, and several other productions that are shot here in Atlanta. His name is Skip and he has the absolute best stories and scars lol.
Skill speaks for itself. JJ has proven himself over the years. He deserves his praise
I'd love to see a stuntwomen react to Gunpowder Milkshake. It has an awesome car scene that has some unique flares to it. the Bowling alley and hospital fight scenes are also just as creative in terms of both concept and choreography
You've had some really cool guests but hands down this isthe coolest guy since I've been watching. Loved that dude!! Hope he comes back again and congrats to all of you and Gee for having him.
Finding more about the real world of stunters makes me so happy for some reason, dunno why, same with the people that makes special effects
Once again he kills it. This guy always brings it, always makes it fun and even educational.
JJ is so cool man, he got some epic stories from his career. super fun man.
JJ has charisma for days! Hope to see him more. Such a nice dude!)))
Loved listening to Perry. Wish to see more of him when you get the chance!
JJ you are an amazing dude. I did not realize how much you have given my life enjoyment. Thank you for your amazing work and I can't wait to see more.
If I were interested in becoming a stunt coordinator, I would really appreciate JJ’s perspective on the realities and the responsibility of the work. Really great stuff.
JJ and Gui are my favourite combo for stuntmen react.
Hands down
Great episode! Seems like such a fun time to have him as a guest and it was great to feel like a part of it watching at home! :D
It would be a dream to have Jackie Chan as a guest. Can you guys make that happen? Pretty please?
I don't think he visits the west much anymore. Back when he was making and promoting movies out here I bet it would have been easy to hook it up.
No one will understand a word of what he says anyway
@Yeah Right lol chris tucker said it best in the rush hour movies XD but nah i would still listen to him speak about his career, even if he might not have spoken English in a while and it might be hard to understand him. He can just speak chinese and have a translator sit with them or just have subtitles added. They've already had on one of his old stunt crew members so maybe he can come back and do it with him. Either way I'm very interested to know what he has to say, so I hope one day they get him on.
@Yeah Right He has done plenty of interviews in America.
Great video - so sad to hear him make the point that stunt coordinators get hired basically as scapegoats. Already an under appreciated job.
JJ was absolutely fantastic on this - thank you so much for having him on the show. "I hope I didn't suck." He's so humble - he doesn't even realise how interesting this was to watch!
JJ is a FANTASTIC guest. What a storyteller! Informative, interesting, precise, clear, experienced. Wow I could listen to him for hours.
Chad is SUCH a beast. Legit fighter, legit stuntman, legit director, and absolute badass.
And still humble. What a great person
Wtf why would you call him a loser (chad)? You aren't fit to lick that legend's feet
The best guest for stunts imo. Love when JJ is on the couch. I can't get enough of the visual/stuntment reacts.
YES! Love J.J. Love him as Sub-Zero from MK Conquest. He did an amazing job. You guys should bring him more to your show.
Could watch like 2 hour of every single episode. Just amazing to listen to these guys talk about all the details of the job and anecdotes and stories around all the stunts/scenes.
Really cool episode. Perry is a very nice, honest, funny dude. Invite him more!
This dude is awesome. Great perspective. Seems like the type of guy who can’t help but be truthful. Great guest and episode, thanks y’all
I'd like you to review the prison yard scene in Extraction 2, The Directing, Choreography, the stunt work, the editing, the whole process is done so amazingly.
I appreciate how brutally honest J.J. was about the reality of being a stunt coordinator. I didn't expect it, but it was very informative, direct and serious.
Man, 40 episodes my dudes! Almost half way to 100!! Love this series. There's so many episodes I dont remember if you have covered everything in Chocolate(Also known as Zen) from 2008 yet?
JJ is the best guest you guys have ever had. Passionate, knowledgeable, and damn hilarious. Keep bringing him back.
Since he briefly mentioned it fighting against the guy who would work Power Rangers I would love to see you guys react to that series. It’s just fascinating to me for there to be more of a magnifying glass on the stunts they did at least when they shot original footage and not reusing Super Sentai footage.
I would actually love to see you guys cover old-school Power Rangers/Kamen Rider... That entire genre has so many talented martial artists in it, and not many people truly appreciate that massive amount of skill due to the shows being pretty goofy. That would be a great Stuntmen React episode, though.
Love the channel, love the React videos, and love literally every single one of y'all who work so hard on this. Keep it going forever!
It's nice to see and hear from him. I watched all of those Mk films several times and even the tv series a couple of times.
I looked him up once briefly, I never knew he was soo busy with things.
I absolutely love seeing when you guys have JJ on the show. Hes such a cool guy. And he's obviously very passionate and knowledgeable about what he does. This Episode was a banger!
This guy is so intense and just talks through the whole show, and I love it. The show could just be him from now on and I'd watch
I want to take this opportunity to greet niko, sam and all of the fathers in corridor a Happy Father's Day
Its so nice to hear JJ coments bc he is so passionate about his work, really inspiring! Great video guys!
You guys continue to crank out the most awesome VFX videos.
Niko and Gui just sitting back letting JJ tell his stories. Fantastic episode. JJ just seems like a great dude.
J.J.’s far too humble, man, this was one of the best episodes ever, I could listen to this dude talk shop all day.
Another great one! I'd love to see you guys delve into the world of movie guns and their mechanics and the different methods of getting effective gun scenes. I guess it would be more of a special effect episode, but I'd bet the stunt work could come in to you guys maybe recreating some iconic gun scenes. Also, I think if you guys were ever looking for something new to do, a series on reviewing popular film scenes with writers (Film Writers React??) could be super interesting. Given the ongoing issues with writers in Hollywood today, it'd be really interesting to get their view.
You've got to have a look at the good and bad effects of Mortal Kombat, Goro in particular is really impressive.
J.J. has incredible stroytelling ability, would love to see him again
This was incredible. I loved this guest! You can tell this man spent time in the military for sure, even with a great sense of humor.
The first Mortal Kombat had some great fight scenes, and Johnny Cage vs Scorpion is one of the best.
I grew up watching a LOT of Hong Kong cinema and JJ's work and even as a kid I would always catch the little homages to Jackie, John Woo, Sammo, and others. I could listen to JJ talking about stuff he's worked on or just stuff he admires all day long & never get bored.
The best thing about improving on the choreo and stunts in the John Wick films is how it actually fits in with the story.
In the first movie, he's out of practice from retirement, so Keanu's more robotic moves make sense for a guy who canonically lost a step or two. Then, as the movies continue, you see him shaking the rust off and getting back to that fabled assassin he once was.
JJ surely has more stories to tell. Let's get them into more episodes.
It would be super interesting to see you guys and Gui take a look at A Knight's Tale. A lot of jousting brutal scenes!
I admire how much empathy and concern he has for his actors.
Man JJ is so natural in front of a camera. A born entertainer. Usually people behind the scenes aren’t as much as entertaining as him. Its as if he has been an youtuber since forever.
The guest is super-cool and massive respect to him for his work
Another great episode as always! I think some of these stunts or sequences would be great to look at:
1) Ito vs Arian in the Night Comes For Us, their final fight.
2) The village battle in Seven Samurai.
3) The Battle of Bloody Porch - The final shootout in The Wild Bunch
4) The final shootout in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
5) The first Daredevil vs Bullseye fight in Daredevil Season 3.
You guys should react to the episode where Steve Urkle becomes Bruce Lee. Not the coolest stunt, but a good episode to show stunt fighting done by a non-typical actor.
Heavy effects and awesome stunts = Mad Max Fury Road! Can’t wait for you guys to do this one! Keep it up Corridor!!! 🤘
I'd love to see you guys take a look at some of the insanely massive battle scenes in 1960's soviet movies. The battle of Borodino in War and Peace (1967) or the cavalry charges in Waterloo (1970) are stunts at a mind-bending scale. Thousands of extras, horses, canons and smoke. I can't even imagine how they coordinated it all.
"Jackie Chan probably doesn't get the credit he deserves."
Hilarious... and probably true. Just shows how much of a legend he is.
Mortal Kombat is legendary. Sequel and the tv show had their moments too, enjoyed them thoroughly. Great guest, great commentary: honest, straight, detailed.
This was awesome. I would love to see you guys cover some stunts from the old days like Buster Keaton's time on up to maybe the 50's. There is a fire stunt in "The Thing From Another World" that blows me away and that could never be done that way today. I wonder if anyone got injured during it.
Has JJ been on the show before? He was hilarious, and definitely needs to come back on for more episodes 🤙
He was on the last one, which I think was his first time on the show.
when they have a guest they usually film 2 episodes in one sitting, this was the second episode.
JJ Perry is really humble about his military experience. He was hand picked to fight competitively for the US military. I think he was fighting(and winning) in Korea and then he came back to the states and just wiped everyone. Incredible dude.
Stuntmen react is easily one of my favourite series on youtube
If you guys could do a combined stuntman / VFX artist react to the “one shot” in Extraction 2 that would be epic… it would likely have to be multiple eps cos that sequence was INSANE!
all the guests recently have been so fun, keep it up :)
I'd love an episode of 90's action TV shows, they must've been so challenging and were good fun for us back in the day 🤣
I've never had a "broken" rib, but I have fractured one before. I can say from experience that was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I had something else he didn't mention, extreme nausea. So I couldn't imagine keeping it together after a fully broken rib. I guess that's why I'm not a stunt man. :D
JJ is by far my fav guest and the episodes with him are my fav episodes.
I know this is a stuntman react video but for a VFX Artists React video, I would absolutely love to see Chad Payne creator of Fortress Films. Crazy work from him, most if not all of his content is made in the source engine and based around Team Fortress 2. He made an hour and 45 minute movie which is a bit on the darker side but has so many amazing references and cinematography. Love the work guys, been watching you fellas for a few years now.
It can truly be said, that JJ did NOT suck! 😆 Can we get another StuntWomen React soon? Seems we're a bit overdue for another. What's Amy been up to lately? :)
